LEED for New Construction
This intensive, one-day workshop provides a technical overview of the LEED Canada for New Construction rating system. LEED NC recognizes buildings that incorporate design, construction and operational practices that combine healthy, high quality and high-performance systems and materials with reduced environmental impacts.

The True Cost of Living Buildings - Lunch and Lecture
Keynote presenter: Jason McLennan, CEO, Cascadia

Jason is the author of the Living Building Challenge, an international green building program and co-creator of Pharos, the most advanced building material rating system in North America. He will be providing an overview of a recent case study on the true costs of Living Buildings.
A subsequent endeavor to the widely distributed ‘Packard Sustainability Matrix’, the purpose of Cascadia’s Financial Study is to investigate the economic obstacles to creating Living Buildings, and determine how these vary based on building type and location.

Meet the design team: Living Building Community Design Presentation
EGB Victoria is very proud to announce that our very own Natural Talent Design Competition teams won first and third prize at the Living Future Conference in Portland! Join us as we hear about the final results from Team Roundhouse and celebrate their efforts. Come find out more information about competing in the design competition in 2010.

Vancouver Branch Summer BBQ
Both Cascadia members, non-members and anyone interested in sustainability are welcome to come out and enjoy a relaxed evening networking with people in the green building industry and finding out more about the great work and events of Vancouver Branch of Cascadia. Enjoy a scrumptious summer dinner (local and/or organic and/or socially responsible food with meat and vegetarian options) out on the patio and a cash bar. Volunteers get two free drinks as a thank you for all their hard work and enthusiasm!
