Carrie joined CCW initially because she was looking to connect with other women in the industry with similar experiences, and to become more involved in the community. She loves to volunteer and wanted to improve her leadership skills along the way so joining the Communications team was the route she took. Currently her responsibilities as a committee member involve creating and editing graphics for the organization.

Ms.Li has been a Project Coordinator with Canadian Turner Construction Company since 2013. Her role at Turner has given her the opportunity to develop project management and coordination skills which allow her to communicate effectively amongst project teams which include clients, architects, designers, consultants and subcontractors.

She recently attended Turner’s BIM (building information modelling) University training in San Antonio, Texas where she learned about the many applications of BIM and how Turner utilizes various tools and software to enhance the efficiency of their business. She comments "it was eye-opening to see the potential uses of BIM in Turner’s Vancouver business unit."

Turner Construction is growing in Vancouver with larger TI projects in the works including Telus Gardens, SNC Lavalin TI and McCarthy Tetrault TI and more to come - keep your eye on this company as they build their name in western Canada.

On a more personal note, she's a travel enthusiast and tries to travel as much as she can. Although difficult to pin point one favourite destination she includes Brazil, Egypt, China and all around Europe in the top most.

In Carrie's spare time you can find her playing dodgeball with the Vancouver Dodgeball League, hiking on one of the local mountains or simply kniting somewhere cozy.

Carrie holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Civil Engineering from UBC and is an accredited LEED Green Associate.

Thanks Carrie for giving us a peek into your life.
