On a beautifully sunny evening, we had the fabulous opportunity to tour the UBC Ponderosa student residences.
Designed by HCMA architects and built by Urban One Builders, the residences are built around a loan Ponderosa line tree that was maintained intact throughout construction and will continue to thrive within the courtyard of the structure.
The residences take advantage of stunning views of Howe Sound, and were especially thoughtful in their design to not encroach on views from Wreck Beach.
Highlights of the tour also included a fantastic photoshoot on the roof of the building, and lighthearted ribbing all-round between architectural, mechanical, and project management CCWers.
Finished off with a short walk up the street to Mahoney and Sons for dinner, great conversation and ice cold beer; there isn't a better way to spend an evening.
Thank you again to Urban One for their time and coordination in this tour.
